Drummer Search 2008

Hey there! As some of you might know, we are currently dummer-less. The time has come to fill that spot so we can move forward. If you or someone you know plays drums, drop us a line and we might just try you out.

You can reach us via Myspace (myspace.com/cityofahundredspires) or by firing off an email at cityofahundredspires@gmail.com.

Please include some info about yourself. Things like what type of kit you play, how long you've been playing as well as who you've played with in the past, age (preferably over 21...). You know, stuff like that. Having your own means of transportation is definitely a plus because our practice spot is north of Gatineau, Qc.

We are looking for someone who is ready to dedicate a lot of time to this band, and is an awesome drummer.

So drop us a line.

two towers, i walk

Does anyone else feel that the lower case 'i' is a vastly superior character to the capital 'I'? Capitalization of the 'I' pronoun has got to be in my top 5 most hated English language grammatical rules, but I digress.

City of a Hundred Spires, all 3 of us, would like to thank those of you who came out to our Zaphods show with Lymbyc Systym and This Will Destroy You last Friday. We had a good time and we look forward to more shows.

So on to the best news: Graveyard of Ships is out! Yes, we received some copies of the album last week! It can be found in the following stores around the Ottawa region:

- Sounds Unlikely (5 Arlington Ave.) - 613-565-1661
- End Hits (407 Dalhousie St.) - 613 241-HITS
- Vertigo Records (193 Rideau St.) - 613 241-1011

We worked pretty hard on the album and we're very happy to finally be able to share it with you. It's a record that encapsulates the last two years of our band in the most comprehensive of ways. We're relieved that it's out and we look forward to new things and to growth.

News on a proper CD launch show in the next few days. I swear.

love.

long may you run

We'd just like to clarify something. The show on September 12th with This Will Destroy You will not be a proper CD release show. We'll have copies of the album for sale that night, but it won't be a release in the traditional sense. A series of release performances are planned for early October. We'll most likely be hitting up Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto at that point. More news on that very soon.

That being said, we'd like to encourage everyone to come out on September 12th at Zaphods for this will be something of a special performance for us. We'll be performing as a three-piece, that is to say without a drummer. We have something special and stripped down planned, where we'll be playing some deconstructed versions of old/album cuts and a few new jams and experiments. It should be interesting enough and chances are we won't be doing this again any time soon. Peep it.

we are through painting over the rust

Okay. I'll make this quick. You know that poster located a bit below, the one claiming that 'Graveyard of Ships' will be released Summer 2008? Well, much to mine and everyone else's surprise, it's actually accurate. 'Graveyard of Ships' will be ready by September 12th and sold at our show with This Will Destroy You and Lymbyc Systym. Proper release shows are being put together for late September. Hurrah?
